I did the +r_rhirenderfamily d3d11 thing on start, too, and it still crashes. I did the same but it crashes when it tries to load vulken shaders. I did find a YouTube video where someone claimed to get it running on an M1 machine using unofficial Wineskin Winery, plus dxvk and some MS C++ libraries. Not interested in any of the other source ports…I know those are a lot easier to deal with, but I’m really just curious to see the new remaster. I don’t want to spend $60 just for Crossover to play this game, so if there’s another way, I’d love to hear it! What I’m curious about is if anyone has gotten this working on a Mac without using Crossover. I installed Steam in a winebottle and it runs just fine that way. So, I’ve had luck getting Quake Remaster to work on my older 5K iMac at work using Crossover (free trial).
